It’s known for its vibrant street life, restaurants, political passion, mom-and-pop businesses, and a warm community feeling. Miami’s Cubanos are very proud of their neighborhood. And, the famous Calle Ocho strip has only added to the fame of this lively area of Miami.
You’ll continue your excursion at the Cubaocho Museum and Performing Arts Center, which is considered the heart of the Miami Cuban community. To give you a boost before your tour, you’ll get to taste a Cuban specialty: Cortadito. Cortadito is a Cuban espresso; and, in true Cuban style, we’ll pair that with a delicious, Cuban pastry. Next, we’ll take you to a cigar factory. Watch as the experts teach you the art of cigar-rolling and find out what makes Cuban cigars the most-sought after smoke in the world. You will then proceed to a locally owned art gallery before checking out the important Bay of Pigs monument. Walk down the Calle Ocho strip and get a feel for the Cuban influence. We’ll finish the Little Havana portion of the tour with a classic mojito made in a popular local bar. The Wynwood Walls, which features street art from some of the world’s best graffiti artists, is one of the most popular attractions in the neighborhood.
You’ll continue your tour with a visit to the famous Wynwood Walls, where you can ogle some of the world’s best street art. Wynwood Doors, situated right next to the Wynwood Walls, also features street art created by some of the best international artists from around the globe. Then, take a stroll around Wynwood and look at beautiful murals, mosaics, and graffiti art strewn about the neighborhood. Head on over to 2nd Avenue to check out galleries filled with fine art and pop art created by famous artists and local up-and-comers.
Next up, you will stop by a local brewery. Here you’ll learn about the beer- making process and the history of beer brewing in Miami. Then, we’ll stop at a local food hotspot for a tasty snack. There are lots of things you can do in this neighborhood, like visiting a local market between Friday and Sunday. We’ll end our tour in another trendy, outdoor bar, where the first round is on us! Then, head to South Beach, where you’ll mingle with beachgoers, have a couple of drinks, and try the local street food! Situated between Biscayne Bay and the Atlantic Ocean, South Beach is perhaps the most famous and most televised beach in America. The Ocean Drive skyline has been featured in so many television shows and movies that just about everyone can easily recognize it. The crystal-clear waters and beautiful white sands are major attractions to beachgoers. Lovingly nicknamed SoBe, the Latino influence permeates the entire local scene. If you are on Miami trip, South Beach is the place to see and be seen.
You’ll continue your tour on Ocean Drive, right in the heart of all the action. Learn about the history of Miami Beach and how this place has evolved from a sleepy resort into one of the most happening places in the country. Your friendly and knowledgable tour guide will also fill you in on Miami’s immigration history. After that, you’ll be taken to some local haunts for a chance to taste some delicious treats. Along South Beach, you can find Haitian food, Cuban street food, and more! Here, you’ll have the opportunity to try a popular South American snack! You’ll then walk down historic Collins Avenue. You can check out the art scene and the Art Deco architecture unique to this area. Finally, we’ll finish off the tour in a popular bar in SoBe, where the first round of beer is on us.
